Meet Coach Matt Mulhern

Force Sports Academy

A positive FORCE.
On and off the field.

Being a Positive FORCE

My goal as a coach is to be a positive FORCE in kids’ lives, both on the field and off. Coaching has given me purpose and a drive to help young players get the education it took me a long time to find, some of it too late.

I’ve been a multi-sport athlete my entire life, playing six competitive sports growing up. In high school, I was a captain in both baseball and basketball. I went to Colorado School of Mines to play Division II baseball. A shoulder injury was part of my own journey and ended my dreams of playing at a higher level.

I also worked as an EMT for a few years, and I still teach CPR today through Force Sports Academy.

I started coaching shortly after my stepson began playing baseball, and it transformed my life. Over the past six years in developmental baseball, I’ve helped hundreds of players ages 4–18 improve, working with kids at every skill level.

The time I have with each player may be brief, but I want it to matter. I want to help them learn the game and give them lessons they can carry into their lives beyond the field. That’s what being a positive FORCE means to me.
